“A Soul On Fire”

Charles Reese, Los Angeles based, sought-after lecturer and cultural architect,  again Brings James Baldwin to us in Paris direct from the Netherlands. Shaping the world view of iconic African-American author and civil rights activist, James Baldwin has not only been Charles Reese’s  passion, but his mission.

In Amsterdam, Charles was invited to launch the international writer’s program for Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts. Charles will perform select excerpts from the acclaimed off-Broadway play, James Baldwin: A Soul On Fire by Howard B. Simon and also give a short, informal talk.

Says Charles, “I am one of many muses who keep the fire of Baldwin burning via cultural

programs. I am honored to be invited to bear witness (as James Baldwin would say) by lecturing and presenting my literary performance salon series. I applaud the college’s eclectic approach to the writing process by utilizing all forms of art and culture as a tool to enhance the overall experience.” The immersive 5-week program which includes a week in Paris

runs through August 2, 2018 (James Baldwin’s 94th Birthday).

Dr Janet Hall

There’s good news and bad news in life: The good news is that there are not that many

dodgy people out there. The bad news is that they sure tend to get around a lot!

Do you ever wish you had a magic wand to deal with the difficult people in your life?

Have you been hurt, betrayed, or cheated by a really dodgy person?

Perhaps it’s a colleague, a business partner, a customer or your internet service provider?

Perhaps it was your boss or your spouse? This dodgy person is an energy vampire who feeds on your self-esteem, mental anguish,

unhappiness and bank balance.

They create dramas which suck the profits from your bottom line.

They waste your time and money and hold you back from the success you deserve!

We don’t want to be their victims! Dodgy people are lurking everywhere and the quicker

you can identify them, the quicker you can avoid their dodgy dealings or at least go into

rapid damage control.

Dr Janet Hall, Clinical Psychologist, calls upon decades of practice and observation to offer

proven strategies for avoiding toxic relationships. With straight-talking advice, real-life

anecdotes, and psychology that makes sense, Dr. Jan gives you the surefire tricks and

techniques you need to remember the lessons learned from the dodgy people of the past

and be more assertive and firm with possible dodgy people in the future.

JACQUELINE HARWOOD

Jacqui Harwood qualified as a physiotherapist in New Zealand in 1991 and flew to the UK to hone her skills in hospitals in London and Oxford, and private practice in Brighton.

SAYS JACQUELINE HARWOOD:

“In May 1993 life took a dramatic turn when I was hit by a speeding reckless driver and spent 3 months in hospital.

This experience totally changed my perspective giving me an empathy of how it felt to be a patient and the bonus was an extreme appreciation for life.

The long months of rehabilitation were a personal journey of healing.

I knew I had to put myself back together and designed a rehab program of swimming to cycling to yoga and then experienced the healing touch of Cranio Sacral Therapy.

I decided to further her studies and learn that therapy.

Between 1997-1998 I studied Craniosacral Therapy in London alongside osteopaths at the Craniosacral therapy Educational Trust.

My attitude has always been positive. But when you are lying in a hospital bed in a lot of pain, your family is really worried about you,  you just realize how precious life is.
CranioSacral Therapy is the deepest most profound healing you can experience I would say.

I use a really gentle touch because anything heavier sets off a reflex inhibition in your body’s tissues. I have learned to “listen” with my hands. In the same way your therapist listens to what you say, I am listening to what you’re not saying what you may have forgotten or what you are unable to say because of pain or shame.

I feel so incredibly lucky that my car accident stopped me in my tracks headed for a nice safe career as a physiotherapist, and instead took me on a much deeper understanding of what we can really do to heal from inside out.

It is my biggest joy helping people to recognize their body mind together for an effective treatment of stress related issues like headaches, migraines, teeth grinding, anxiety, depression, PTSD.

After spending 7 years in Australia and raising my children, building my first craniosacral therapy physiotherapy business, we moved to Paris France in 2005.  I work out of a clinic in the 14th just south of Jardin Luxembourg and Montparnasse.”
